About work:
I have titled this body of works as Thing’s going so fast, and everybody seems to be in a hurry to “achieve/attain”, becoming a part of the rat race, be it corporate world, Bollywood, politics, “Art World”, or even everyday life...
‘‘Ponder upon these thoughts, and wonder how everything’s spinning around, the crowded places in the city and floods of people caught in the “din of the everyday.” As a migrant I too come in the city- not without a dream, my dream is more creative than, the usual name –fame-money kind. As an artist, a practicing- intense Yoga person since my childhood from the ashram in Orissa, I am a nature lover, natural swimmer love to float on my back dead flat on water and remain there for hours along with cows and buffalos in the rain water lake.
‘‘I don’t miss any thing now as I rejoice this in memory and live with same passion in this big metro; it provides enough material inspiration 24x7 which in turn help me in my creative processes’’.
‘‘People rushing/ running /catching the local train, the rush at the Mahim market, the endless ticket queues at the local railway station, people crossing the railway tracks at the Kandivali station where a cement block lying unattended and why so many people stumble upon it, and then some run over by the train. I wonder if things could be put to pause for a moment and get this Chaos into Order.
My works on paper and canvas, some large and medium size, tend to deal with the aspect of “doubt.” and the titles such as:‘‘Central order n chaos’’/mirroring/stretching/stop/jammed/bypass/underneath/ ‘‘peak hour order n chaos”, are all suggestive of a very familiar Indian/Eastern philosophy, but what’s interesting is the language that has evolved. The application and treatment, the textured wall
